Einige erinnern sich sicherlich noch dran, als Electronic Arts zum 12-jährigen Geburtstag von Command & Conquer im letzten Jahr den ersten Teil kostenlos zum Download anbot. Nun feiert EA den 13. Geburtstag von Alarmstufe Rot und wieder gibt es einen Teil aus der Command & Conquer Serie als Geschenk, der auf der offiziellen Homepage kostenlos zum Download angeboten wird. Grund für die Aktion ist die baldige Veröffentlichung von Command & Conquer: Alarmstufe Rot 3, das Ende Oktober erscheint.

Der Download beträgt pro CD (Alliance und Soviets) 500 MB und wird im ISO-Format angeboten, welches gebrannt oder mit einem Virtual CD Tool gestartet werden kann. Wie lange der Download bereitsteht ist bisher nicht bekannt. Aber bei der letzten Aktion konnte man den ersten Teil einen ganzen Monat kostenlos herunterladen.

Command & Conquer: Alarmstufe Rot 2 erhält man übrigens ebenfalls umsonst. Dies gilt aber nur in Verbindung mit einer Vorbestellung von Alarmstufe Rot 3 über Electronic Arts.

On the occasion of for the 12-year-old birthday of Command & Conquer last year there was as a special present the first part of Command & Conquer free of charge to download. Now Electronic Arts celebrates the 13th birthday of Command & Conquer: Red Alert and again there is a part from the Command & Conquer series as a present which is offered on the official homepage free of charge to download. Reason for the action is the forthcoming release of Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 which appears at the end of october.

The download is offered in the ISO format and exists of two CD's - the Alliance and the Soviets. The CD's can be burnt on downloading or be started with a virtual CD tool. How long the download is ready is not known up to now. By the last promotion part one could download a whole month free of charge.

Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 is also free of charge. However, condition for this is a pre-order of Red Alert 3 about Electronic Arts.
